I created this seam ripper by combining a new, large size, seam ripper blade with the handle of a vintage silver-plated tableware. It is shiny and brilliant; unique because of the natural usage marks of the vintage piece.
It is 5 1/4" long and 3/4" wide at the base.
The handle is early century. Hollow handle; lightweight. Silver plated. Weighs less 1/2 ounce. The handle fits comfortably in your palm.
Hard epoxy resin holds the blade securely in the handle. The epoxy is covered with a bit of silver paint and lacquer aesthetics.
I am not a silverware expert, but I've done some research and this is what I've found about this unique handle:
Made by Wm Rogers; the pattern is "Melrose 1898" circa 1898. A little difficult to discern exact manufacture date; definitely early century.
